LIGHTHOUSE

Lighthouse was a horror movie that started as a monster movie. Simon Hunter and Graeme Scarfe worked on a script for many months. The movie ended up having a serial killer as it was felt a monster was too expensive to achieve. The film was totally shot at Three Mills studios in East London. the Lighthouse was recreated with model work and plate photography from Lands End in Cornwall. The Film was produced by Tim Dennison and Mark Leake. It was financed by British Screen, Winchester films and the Arts Council. The budget was one million pounds. It was Simon’s first feature, shot just two years after leaving film school in Farnham, Surrey. The movie sold every territory in the world and went on to make a small profit! The film stared James Purefoy, Chris Adamson, Rachel Shelly and Chris Dunne. Simon had worked with Chris Dunne on his short film WIRED and with Chris Adamson on Jake West’s graduation film, CLUB DEATH, which Simon produced.
